FAQ

Common questions

Which calculator tells me the right lot size for my risk?

The position size calculator answers that. You enter your account balance, the percentage you are willing to risk, your stop distance in pips and the instrument, and it returns a lot size. For XAU/USD, one pip is 0.01 and one standard lot is 100 oz, so the pip value drives the result.

How do I know what one pip is worth on my gold trade?

Use the pip value calculator. For gold, one pip is 0.01, and one standard lot is 100 oz, so the pip value scales with your lot size. The calculator shows the figure in the quote currency, which you then read alongside your naira funding cost rather than treating as naira directly.

What is the margin calculator for if my broker already shows margin?

It lets you check the broker's figure and plan before you open the trade. Margin depends on lot size, the gold price and the leverage on your account. At 1:200 via the offshore entity, a 0.10-lot position needs about $85.50. The calculator lets you test other sizes against that cap.

Can the profit calculator tell me what I will earn?

No, it cannot predict earnings. It converts a given entry, exit and lot size into a hypothetical result so you can see the arithmetic before you trade. The number depends entirely on the prices you type in, and a loss is the same calculation with the sign reversed.

Do I need the pivot points tool to trade gold?

You do not need it, but it answers a specific question: where the previous session's levels fall. The pivot points calculator derives support and resistance levels from prior high, low and close. Whether those levels matter is a judgement call, and they are reference points, not signals.
